Monitoring – In Partnership with DSOC

What is an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC)?

An Alarm Receiving Centre, also referred to as an ARC, is a dedicated facility designed to oversee and monitor alarm systems for various businesses and structures. These systems typically include security, intruder alarms, and fire alarms.

Staffed by our professional monitoring team, our alarm receiving centre ensures swift responses to any activated alarms. Our team of experts continuously watch for any alerts and, upon receiving one, will initiate the necessary procedures, which may include alerting the police if necessary.

By utilising an alarm receiving centre, companies can offload the task of alarm monitoring during emergencies, such as fires or security breaches. This not only relieves employees of this responsibility but also enhances the overall security with around-the-clock surveillance.

What is the Role of Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs)?

ARCs enhance security systems, guarding against unauthorised access, vandalism, harm, and fires by promptly identifying and responding to alarm activations. Here’s the typical process we use when an alarm is activated:
1. An alarm is set off at a client’s location.

2. The client’s system control panel transmits a signal to the ARC.

3. Upon receiving the signal, a monitoring operative at the ARC instantly investigates the situation.

4. If the alarm is activated during the site’s operational hours, the operative reaches out to the location to verify if the alarm is genuine or a false alarm. By confirming with the location, the ARC ensures efficient use of emergency services and minimises potential disruptions.

5. Outside of operational hours, the operative verifies the legitimacy of the alarm, often through CCTV and audio analysis. If direct verification isn’t feasible, they proceed to the subsequent action.

This approach ensures optimal use of resources and swift responses to potential threats.
